Top Ten Holiday Songs

The cover for the Polar Express album.

The Holiday Season is a joyous time of being thankful for what you have and giving back to those less fortunate. During this time, people love to watch holiday movies, make cookies, decorate their houses, and listen to uplifting holiday songs. Like Buddy the Elf says, “The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.” Below, in no particular order, are the top ten holiday songs to listen to:

  1. Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree by Brenda Lee. This upbeat and catchy song is great to listen to when decorating the tree with your family.
  2. All I Want for Christmas Is You by Mariah Carey. With over 139,000,000 hits on Spotify, this holiday song is very widely known and loved.
  3. Jingle Bell Rock by Bobby Helms. Almost everyone knows and loves this classic holiday song.
  4. Mistletoe by Justin Bieber. Mistletoe is a newer song that most teenagers, girls especially, know and love.
  5. Christmas Eve/Sarajevo by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. This song has no words, it’s just instrumental that is a mix of different holiday songs with a rock and roll twist to it.
  6. Last Christmas by Wham. This song about breaking up around the holidays is a classic.
  7. Believe by Josh Groban. You’ll recognize this moving song from the holiday classic Polar Express.
  8. White Christmas by Bing Crosby. This old holiday song has been famous for many years.
  9. He Carves the Roast Beast/Welcome Christmas (From “Dr. Suess’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas”) by James Horner. This song is in the part of How the Grinch Stole Christmas when the Grinch returns all the presents and the people of Whoville and the Grinch sing together around the Christmas tree.
  10. It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas by Michael Bublé.
